Just Keep On Trying
Persistence really pays off sometimes.
Sometimes looking at simple things make you realise how important they are. The other day I was trying hard to connect to the internet. I have dial up access so it can be a real pain sometimes to get connected much less to surf the internet.
This particular day I had read a self improvement book earlier and it gave a story of someone digging for gold who got fed up and stopped because he was not seeing results. He realised later that he had stopped three feet from the gold when someone else went to dig where he was digging.
So here I was trying to get connected and I had tried about 21 times (no joke) without success. I was just about to give up, since I became hungry and wanted to take a shower. I said to myself let me try 3 more times. I still did not connect to the net. That was it, I was tired and ready to give up. I said again to myself let me try 1 more time. No luck.
I got up off my chair, grabbed my towel to take a shower and just tried again. Bam it connected.This was 26 times in total it took to get connected to the net (my gosh). Five times more than when I was initially going to give up.
Moral of the story.
Keep on trying until you get what you really want in life even if it is as simple as getting connected to the internet to update your website for others to read.
